We're seeking an experienced Customer Service Specialist II to join our Animal Services team. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, answering phone calls, responding to emails, and resolving customer issues in a timely and professional manner. You'll also be responsible for maintaining accurate records, preparing reports, and performing other administrative tasks as needed.

  • Provide exceptional customer service to customers via phone, email, and in-person
  • Answer phone calls and direct them accordingly
  • Type letters, reports, forms, and correspondence
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on a personal computer
  • Perform data retrieval and entry into a software application
  • Perform other clerical functions as needed, such as processing mail, filing, and scanning
  • Provide support to the Animal Services team, including answering questions and resolving issues
  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and resolve customer complaints in a timely and professional manner
  • *Essential Qualifications**
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • One (1) year of experience in customer service duties involving frequent public contact
  • Experience in the operation of a personal computer required
  • Ability to type accurately on a personal computer
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others in person, via telephone, in writing, and online
  • Ability to read for comprehension
  • Ability to maintain records and prepare reports
  • Ability to meet and deal with people effectively
  • Ability to use a personal computer and related software
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions
  • Ability to learn the procedures and operations of the unit to which assigned
  • *Preferred Qualifications**
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Experience in the animal services industry or a related field
  • Knowledge of standard office methods and procedures
  • Knowledge of business English, spelling, and arithmetic
  • Knowledge of County departments, operations, and regulations
