  • *Key Responsibilities:**
  • Provide fast, friendly, and personalized service to customers, assessing their needs and providing assistance to drive sales growth
  • Learn about products and services using our tools and training programs to provide accurate and informed recommendations to customers
  • Greet, qualify, recommend, and close every customer in your department, with the ability to handle basics in adjacent departments
  • Maintain the in-stock condition of assigned areas, ensuring a clean, shop-able, and safe environment for customers and employees
  • Provide a safe working and shopping environment by following all safety policies and standards, completing specified safety training, and reporting hazards or unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty
  • Work in cooperation with your Department Supervisor and other associates in your department, as well as other departments, to achieve sales and customer satisfaction goals
  • Participate in sales promotions, events, and initiatives to drive sales growth and customer engagement
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers, including pro accounts and special services customers
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as Building Materials, Décor, Electrical, Flooring, Garden, Hardware, Kitchen & Bath, Lumber, Millwork, Paint, Plumbing, and Tool Rental, to provide a seamless customer experience
  • *Essential Qualifications:**
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
  • 1-2 years of customer service or sales experience in a retail or sales environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and colleagues
  • Strong product knowledge and ability to learn about new products and services
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Basic math skills and accuracy with handling cash, operating a cash register, and processing transactions
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand for long periods of time
  • *Preferred Qualifications:**
  • Previous experience in a sales or customer service role in a retail or sales environment
  • Knowledge of building materials, tools, or other related products and services
  • Experience with sales software, such as CRM systems, and other technology tools
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills, with the ability to communicate with customers in their preferred language
