General Description:

The Executive Director, ERP CoE and Architecture is a senior enterprise technology leader responsible for defining and executing the company’s global ERP strategy, architecture, and transformation roadmap. This role provides end-to-end accountability for SAP platform vision, governance, and value realization, ensuring alignment with business priorities and long-term growth objectives.

As a key member of the Technology leadership team, this role partners closely with executive stakeholders across Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Commercial functions to enable scalable, compliant, and innovative digital capabilities. The Executive Director drives enterprise-wide ERP transformation, including modernization initiatives (e.g., S/4HANA, cloud adoption), while ensuring operational excellence, security, and regulatory compliance across a global footprint.

Essential Functions of the Job:

Enterprise ERP Strategy & Transformation

Define and lead the multi-year global ERP strategy and roadmap, aligning technology investments with business priorities and enterprise growth plans

Drive end-to-end ERP transformation initiatives, including S/4HANA PCE/RISE migrations, cloud enablement, and clean core adoption

Serve as the executive authority on ERP architecture, establishing standards for scalability, integration, and innovation

Lead investment planning, business case development, and value realization tracking for ERP initiatives

ERP CoE Leadership

Establish and lead a best-in-class global ERP Center of Excellence, defining operating models, governance, standards, and best practices

Drive enterprise adoption of standardized processes, reusable solutions, and platform capabilities

Lead the ERP Community of Practice, ensuring alignment across Solution Managers and global stakeholders

Identify opportunities to simplify the application landscape, reduce redundancy, and maximize ERP value

ERP Architecture, Platforms & Innovation

Own the enterprise ERP architecture strategy, including SAP ecosystem (S/4HANA, BTP, Databricks, Joule, integrations)

Champion innovation and emerging technologies, ensuring the platform evolves to meet future business needs

Define and govern enterprise integration and data strategies in support of ERP-centric architecture

Drive modernization of development practices, including clean core, DevOps, and automation

Technology Operations & Governance

Provide executive oversight of ERP operations, service delivery, and performance, ensuring reliability, scalability, and user satisfaction

Establish and enforce global governance frameworks, including security, compliance, and risk management (SOX/SOD, audit readiness)

Define KPIs and performance metrics tied to business outcomes, operational efficiency, and service quality

Ensure adherence to GxP, regulatory, and audit requirements across ERP platforms

Security, Risk & Compliance

Set the enterprise ERP security strategy, ensuring robust controls, role design, and compliance frameworks

Maintain audit readiness and regulatory compliance across all ERP-related processes and technologies

Partner with Risk, Compliance, and Internal Audit to proactively manage enterprise risk exposure

Leadership & Executive Partnership

Lead and develop a global, high-performing ERP organization, including architecture, development, security, and operations

Act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, influencing business strategy through technology capabilities

Build strong partnerships with cross-functional business leaders to align priorities and drive transformation outcomes

Manage key strategic vendor relationships (e.g., SAP and system integrators) to optimize value and performance

Education Required:

Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field (MBA or equivalent preferred)

Qualifications: 

Master’s degree with 10+ years of experience in enterprise technology, ERP architecture, or IT leadership, including 8+ years in senior leadership roles

Deep expertise in SAP ERP (S/4HANA), enterprise architecture, and global ERP transformation programs

Proven track record of leading large-scale ERP transformations from strategy through implementation and value realization

Strong experience in enterprise integration, data strategy, and cloud-based ERP ecosystems

Extensive knowledge of GxP compliance, SAP security, and regulatory frameworks (SOX/SOD, CSV, GMP)

Demonstrated ability to operate at the executive level, influencing strategy and driving cross-functional alignment

Experience managing global teams and complex vendor ecosystems

Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills

Experience in life sciences or regulated industries preferred

SAP certifications or equivalent demonstrated expertise preferred

Experience with SAP BTP, Cloud ALM, Solution Manager, and modern DevOps practices

Supervisory Responsibilities:   

Manage a global team

Travel – 20% or less

Salary Range: $266,200.00 - $346,200.00 annuallyBeOne is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Actual compensation packages are determined by several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, certifications, relevant education or training, and specific work location. Packages may vary by location due to differences in the cost of labor. The recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for a preferred location during the hiring process. Please note that the listed range reflects the base salary or hourly range only. Non-Commercial roles are eligible to participate in the annual bonus plan, and Commercial roles are eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
