Environmental and Social Intern

The Environmental & Social (E&S) Intern will support the team in the implementation of environmental and social studies, monitoring activities, and stakeholder engagement for projects in Ivory Coast.
The intern will assist in data collection, reporting, and field activities while gaining exposure to international environmental and social standards, including those of the International Finance Corporation.
Key Responsibilities
Environmental Support
Assist in environmental data collection and monitoring activities related to project sites.
Support environmental baseline studies and environmental impact assessments (EIA/ESIA).
Assist in monitoring environmental indicators such as waste management, water use, air quality, and biodiversity.
Support environmental inspections and site visits when required.
Social Performance Support
Assist with stakeholder engagement and community consultation activities.
Support the preparation of stakeholder meeting notes and consultation reports.
Assist in monitoring community grievances and social issues related to project activities.
Compliance & Monitoring
Support monitoring of project compliance with environmental and social management plans (ESMP).
Assist in ensuring alignment with national environmental regulations and international standards.
Support preparation of environmental and social monitoring reports.
Research & Documentation
Conduct research on environmental and social regulations and standards.
Assist with the preparation of technical reports and project documentation.
Maintain organized records of environmental and social data.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree (or currently completing) in:
Environmental Science
Environmental Management
Sustainable Development
Social Sciences
Geography or related field
Experience
Previous internship or academic exposure to environmental or social projects is an advantage.
Interest in environmental consulting, development projects, or sustainability.
Skills
Basic understanding of environmental and social impact issues
Strong research and analytical skills
Good writing and documentation skills
Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams
Languages
French: Fluent (required)
English: Professional working level preferred
