Position Overview
As an Entry-Level Pharmacist at arenaflex, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care to our patients. This position combines traditional pharmacy responsibilities with remote data entry tasks, allowing you to work from the comfort of your home while still making a significant impact on patient health. You will be responsible for providing medication counseling, ensuring safe and accurate prescription processing, and supporting the overall efficiency of our pharmacy operations.

Key Responsibilities
Patient Experience and Engagement
- Greet patients warmly and offer assistance with products and services to create a welcoming environment
- Resolve patient concerns promptly and professionally to ensure a positive experience
- Respond to patient inquiries regarding medication usage, side effects, drug interactions, and contraindications
- Provide guidance on generic alternatives and cost-effective medication options
- Refer patients to healthcare providers when necessary to ensure proper medication use and address health needs
- Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills, including friendly demeanor, eye contact, and professionalism
- Proactively anticipate patient needs and offer additional services that enhance their healthcare experience
- Support efforts to improve patient awareness of healthcare services offered through arenaflex, including medication management, drug therapy reviews, and clinical services such as immunizations and diagnostic testing
- Participate in community events and outreach programs as directed by leadership to promote wellness and strengthen community relationships
Pharmacy Operations and Prescription Management
- Perform pharmacist duties including prescription compounding, medication therapy reviews, verification, and management
- Review, interpret, and accurately dispense prescribed medications as required by duty
- Ensure pharmacy operations comply with all federal and state regulations, company policies, and quality standards
- Support the Pharmacy Manager in establishing procedures that promote efficient workflow, including assigning roles, scheduling activities, and incorporating team suggestions
- Assume responsibility for opening and closing the pharmacy and managing shift change duties
- Maintain compliance with controlled substance regulations when dispensing prescriptions, following all PureTemps Dispensing Policy requirements
- Stay current on pharmacy system technology, including workflow, prescription fulfillment, billing, clinical documentation, training, inventory management, and point-of-sale systems
- Identify new and improved ways to enhance productivity and patient service
- Ensure accurate processing of insurance claims to resolve patient issues and prevent payment rejections
- Follow up with insurance companies and clinical providers to clarify prescription details, dosages, refills, interactions, and contraindications
- Propose alternative medications when appropriate and address clinical provider questions
Clinical and Health Services
- Administer clinical and health services, including vaccinations, diagnostic testing, disease state management, and other healthcare services
- Support the Pharmacy Manager in analyzing performance data, including pharmacy financials, customer service metrics, and policy compliance
- Assist with pharmacy asset protection and inventory management initiatives
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with the local medical community, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare providers
- Participate in community outreach activities to promote pharmacy services, enhance learning opportunities, and contribute to healthier communities through improved health outcomes
- Partner with support teams for patient enrollment, exception resolution, and issue resolution
- In virtual environments, conduct virtual product reviews following specific company procedures and guidelines
People and Performance Management
- Support the Pharmacy Manager with staff hiring and training initiatives
- Establish processes for staff performance management through coaching, constructive feedback, and monitoring customer service quality
- Promote teamwork and motivate colleagues by setting clear expectations, monitoring progress, recognizing achievements, and fostering a shared vision
- Encourage colleague professional development and create a supportive work environment
Training and Professional Development
- Maintain current knowledge and required licensing, credentialing, or certification as established by federal and state regulations to provide clinical services
- Stay current on pharmacy and healthcare-related information by reading industry publications, company communications, and updates
- Maintain awareness of developments in retail pharmacy and management practices, pursuing continuous improvement
- Obtain necessary certifications, education credits, and training, including learning modules, as required by the organization
- Seek professional development opportunities by monitoring personal performance, requesting constructive feedback, and utilizing mentorship from Pharmacy Managers and Store Managers
- Communicate relevant corporate health and wellness services or procedure information to pharmacy staff
Essential Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharmacist Degree from an accredited educational institution
- Licensure: Current pharmacist licensure in the states within the assigned region
- Experience: Experience performing prescription dispensing activities demonstrating strong knowledge of relevant state and federal controlled substance laws
- Certification: Certified Immunizer or willing to become certified within 90 days of hire
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with pharmacy software systems and technology
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Customer Service: Strong interpersonal skills with a passion for helping patients
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous accuracy in prescription processing and patient interactions
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a pharmacist in a retail setting
- Experience with prescription filling and verification, records management, and legal compliance
- Knowledge of pharmacy operations and pharmacy programming and technology systems
- Experience with insurance processing and claims resolution
