Position Overview

The Enterprise Data Storage Administrator will be recognized as an authoritative expert in Enterprise Data Storage Operations and Engineering. This role is responsible for overseeing and maintaining our data storage environments, ensuring robust data backups, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and providing ongoing recommendations and best practices. The technology landscape includes various NAS, SAN, and DAS environments, along with all other technologies designated as storage technology.

You will work closely with application, database, server, and other technology teams to ensure appropriate storage technology and configurations. Your expertise will be instrumental in designing and implementing scalable storage solutions that support our business objectives. This is a hands-on role that requires both strategic thinking and practical technical skills.

Key Responsibilities

As an Enterprise Data Storage Administrator at arenaflex, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:


  • Enterprise Storage Expertise: Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of enterprise data storage environments, including NAS, SAN, and DAS systems. Apply your knowledge to optimize performance, reliability, and scalability.

  • Backup and Data Security: Implement and maintain enterprise backup and data security technologies to protect critical business information. Ensure disaster recovery capabilities are robust and tested regularly.

  • Monitoring and Reporting: Efficiently manage and monitor reporting platforms and storage management software. Generate insightful reports that drive informed decision-making.

  • Capacity Planning: Define and implement trend capacity planning strategies based on industry standards and best practices. Anticipate future storage needs and proactively address potential challenges.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Interface and communicate with application, database, server, and other technology teams on architecture and configuration selection to ensure appropriate storage technology and design.

  • Organizational Skills: Display strong organizational abilities to adapt and prioritize tasks in a continuously changing work environment. Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

  • Documentation: Produce clear and concise documentation for both routine and irregular tasks, ensuring knowledge transfer and operational continuity.

  • Technical Support: Provide technical support and guidance on complex activities such as installation, configuration, and backup/restore operations for all storage systems.

  • System Maintenance: Perform code updates and security patching to maintain the health and security of storage systems. Stay current with the latest patches and updates.

  • Project Contributions: Contribute to the completion of milestones associated with specific projects, working collaboratively with team members to achieve organizational goals.

Required Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following qualifications:


  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years' experience in data storage or a related field with emphasis on networking and storage protocols.

  • Industry Knowledge: Must have industry knowledge and experience for large-scale SAN design and implementation.

  • OEM Expertise: Proven experience in enterprise storage networking, with expertise in Dell EMC, Cisco, and similar Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).

  • Data Protection: Strong grasp of current and advanced data protection technologies, including backup solutions, replication, and disaster recovery.

  • NAS Proficiency: Experience with NAS concepts and protocols, including CIFS, NFS, and S3.

  • Data Synchronization: Knowledge of data synchronization technologies for both SAN and NAS environments.

  • Operating System Infrastructure: Operating system and network infrastructure skills in both Linux and Windows environments.

  • Virtualization: VMware concepts and networking experience.

  • Education: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Computer Science or a related discipline is desired. A combination of training, work experience, and education may be considered.
