Key Responsibilities
As an Enterprise Data Architect at arenaflex, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing the design of end-to-end data solutions that meet our business needs. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Architectural Leadership: Lead and provide oversight into the design of comprehensive data solutions including data structure, data integration, data modeling, security, privacy, regulatory compliance, performance optimization, data governance, and business intelligence. Ensure all solutions align with overall business objectives and technical standards.
- Technical Oversight: Provide technical oversight and guidance on data infrastructure, including cloud-based and on-premises systems. Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that enhance our data capabilities while maintaining cost-effectiveness and scalability.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Participate in and lead discovery sessions with primary business stakeholders to gather information on business objectives, challenges, and requirements. Translate complex business needs into technical specifications and architectural designs.
- Solution Presentation: Present proposed solutions to technical forums during evaluation sessions and articulate designs clearly to stakeholder groups. Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Development Support: Support solution delivery by providing insights to software development teams and project managers that plan and execute delivery activities. Collaborate closely with development teams to ensure successful implementation of data solutions.
- Implementation Coordination: Support implementation processes in association with internal and outside development teams. Participate in project-related activities and ensure alignment between architectural designs and implementation realities.
- Quality Assurance: Support achievement for the quality of the implemented solution and its adherence to technology strategies, requirements, and best practices. Conduct reviews and provide feedback to ensure consistent quality across all data solutions.
- Documentation: Create solution architecture documents that describe and explain solution attributes and related benefits. Maintain comprehensive documentation of architectural decisions, data models, and technical specifications.
- Technology Research: Stay up-to-date on emergent technology applicable to supporting the data solutions delivered for customers. Research and evaluate new tools, frameworks, and methodologies that can enhance our data capabilities.
- Continuous Improvement: Support the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of solution control methodologies, including obtaining feedback after the solution has been implemented.
- Strategic Advisory: Assist in the identification and recommendation of appropriate solutions, improvements, replacements, or decommissioning alternatives incorporating business and technology productivity, usability, and total cost of ownership considerations.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you must possess the following qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Data Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is required. Equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
- Experience: A minimum of 3+ years of proven experience in the design and implementation of current data architectures to support large-scale data solutions is essential. You should have a track record of delivering complex data projects on time and within budget.
- Data Architecture Expertise: Expert knowledge of data styles to support architectures and data management concepts and methods including ETL/ELT, Data Mesh, data lake, data lakehouse, data warehouse, data streaming, and data virtualization is required.
- Data Modeling Skills: Strong knowledge of data modeling (dimensional, data vault, etc.) concepts and techniques based on established methodologies. You should be proficient in creating logical and physical data models that support business requirements.
- ETL Development: Strong knowledge of ETL tools including Informatica, SSIS, Talend, DataStage, etc., as well as requirements and best practices for ETL development frameworks. Experience with modern data integration approaches is highly valued.
- Data Governance: Strong knowledge of data governance framework concepts and vendor systems. Understanding of data quality, metadata management, and data stewardship principles is essential.
- Visualization Tools: Experience with data manipulation and visualization tools including Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms. Ability to create meaningful visualizations that drive business insights.
- SQL Expertise: Strong knowledge of SQL and proven ability to use SQL to address a wide variety of business requirements. Proficiency in writing complex queries, stored procedures, and performance optimization.
- Data Warehousing: Strong knowledge in data warehousing concepts and data structures and architecture. Understanding of modern data warehouse approaches and best practices.
- Security Knowledge: Proficient in building secure systems using: Encryption, Access control, Network security, and Advanced data security. Understanding of data privacy regulations and compliance requirements.
- Master Data Management: Knowledge of MDM concepts and solutions. Experience with master data management initiatives is a plus.
- Big Data Experience: Demonstrated experience deploying data solutions in Big Data structures. Familiarity with Hadoop, Spark, or similar distributed computing platforms.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and decision-making abilities. You should be able to evaluate complex situations, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions.
- Collaboration: Experience working within multidisciplinary, distributed, and collaborative environments. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with teams across different locations.
