Job Description: English Senior Tutor (UK Curriculum)

Position: English Senior Tutor

Experience Required:

• Minimum 5+ years of teaching experience

• 2–3 years of academic or instructional leadership experience

Role & Responsibilities

1. Academic Delivery

• Teach English across Key Stage 2, 11+, SATs, Key Stage 3, GCSE, and AS/A-Level following the UK curriculum.

• Deliver high-quality lessons in Language, Literature, and Creative Writing.

• Prepare students for internal assessments, standardised tests, and board examinations.

2. Leadership & Mentoring

• Mentor and support junior English tutors, ensuring consistent teaching standards.

• Provide guidance on pedagogy, curriculum delivery, classroom management, and creative writing instruction.

• Lead academic discussions, training sessions, and internal workshops.

3. Student Progress & Performance

• Monitor and track student progress through regular tests, writing tasks, and feedback.

• Identify learning gaps and design targeted interventions.

• Maintain high academic expectations and ensure measurable student improvement.

4. Lesson Planning & Resources

• Develop structured lesson plans aligned with the UK curriculum.

• Create worksheets, mock papers, creative writing prompts, and assessments.

• Update resources based on curriculum changes and student needs.

5. Parent & Stakeholder Communication

• Provide regular updates to parents on student performance and progress.

• Conduct review meetings and offer academic guidance.
