What’s the role
The Engineering Lead is the single point of contact for respective portfolio delivery, facing off to one or more ITDMs, and delivering the outcomes of business plans by focusing on maximized value. They are responsible for the portfolio health and data to their ITDMs.
They will review all demands from Business IT and ensure the appropriate delivery model is selected to maximize business value, and the key control roles are identified and assigned or resourced.
Accountabilities:
Rigorously manage scope through a structured change management process to ensure commitments are achieved within agreed time, cost, and quality parameters with focus on delivering the business outcome
Create and validate financial forecasts, statements of work and provide ongoing reconciliation of resources and expenditures. Use creative costing, sourcing and business models to capitalize on greater leverage power
Ensure appropriate Business IDT stakeholder change and communication plans and strategies are developed and executed
Partner with the Business Interface and delivery horizontals to structure the portfolio’s strategic plan into associated programs and projects that deliver planned benefits
Interface with delivery management horizontals, Architecture, Information Risk Management (IRM), and Operations (IDSO) to achieve desired portfolio outcomes
Coach and mentor a high-performing natural team
Establish and maintain appropriate and effective Governance structures and procedures to obtain resources, drive decisions, resolve issues, and deliver project/programs objectives
Proactively engage with stakeholders to identify and address the major factors, assumptions and risks (including technical, business, adoption, organisational, government, cultural, etc.) that may influence project/programs direction and success. As parameters and external influences change, adjusts the portfolio approach to achieve the intended benefits
Optimize resource allocation based on portfolio priorities, taking advantage of cross-horizontal sharing wherever possible.
Ensure related strategic/tactical sourcing agreements and partnerships are purposefully established and organized (e.g. vertically, by portfolio) to drive synergies and maximise outcomes
This is a complex delivery environment with a diverse group of stakeholders and natural teams that need to be aligned to deliver common goals

What you bring
Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
Degree in Software Engineering or demonstrated capability, applied experience, and role-relevant skills
10+ years in IT with 5+ years of IT Project Management experience
Ability to support portfolio demand scoping, estimation, and delivery methodology selection
Ability to lead delivery of the program’s objectives, benefits, and desired outcomes against the plan
Ability to manage program budgets, ensuring financial resources are allocated effectively, and projects remain within budget constraints.
Ability to identify and assess risks related to the program and develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans
Ability to implement quality control processes to maintain high standards in project deliverables and outcomes
Ability to regularly report on program progress, milestones, and key performance indicators
Experience in Waterfall and Agile project delivery or product experience
Demonstrated servant leadership behaviors, including empowerment and increasing transparency that enables team self‑organization
Demonstrated learning agility in ambiguous and unfamiliar situations
Familiarity with and ability to adhere to project management methodologies and tools
Strong communication and presentation skills
Strong stakeholder management skills, including experience coaching stakeholders
Experience leading a distributed team
Ability to manage highly complex projects, including responsibility for both the largest investments and the smallest changes for the business

What we offer
The base salary range for this position is $149,000 - $223,000 per year. Individual pay will be based on various factors, such as relevant work experience, education, certifications, skill level, seniority, and internal equity.
For regular full-time or regular part-time employees of the Company (participating companies as listed in the Summary Plan Description), insurance coverage options include medical, dental, vision coverage, life Insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs. Employees also participate in a company pension plan and a 401(k) plan. Paid leave includes up to 6 weeks of paid vacation time, up to 11 paid holidays, and parental leave offering 16 weeks of paid leave for birthing parents, and 8 weeks of paid leave for non-birthing parents.
Additionally, employees are eligible for short-term disability leave for up to 26 weeks at 100% or 50% of base pay as well as Long-Term Disability insurance. Shell also offers other compensation such financial reimbursement for adoption, wellness, education, and personal learning expenses, and some roles are eligible for discretionary long-term incentives. For interns, eligible benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance, and Occupational Accidental Death Benefit programs; participation in a 401(k) plan; and paid leave for up to 11 paid holidays.
