The Engineer-In-Training 1 role involves providing engineering services for transportation planning and design projects, including data analysis, report preparation, and design documentation.


Responsibilities

  • Transportation Planning and Phase I Studies
  • Collect and analyze data from reports, maps, drawings and aerial photographs to plan projects
  • Assist in the preparation of transportation project reports
  • Prepares and checks design computations and quantity estimates
  • Use of computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents
  • Assist in the preparation of design plans, specifications, and cost estimates
  • Coordination with regulatory agencies, utility companies and sub-consultants to obtain information, guidance, and requirements
  • Adhere to company standards for quality assurance and quality control as defined in the quality manual

Skills

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
  • Must possess 0 to 3 years of relevant transportation engineering work experience
  • Must possess Engineer Intern (EI) registration/licensure
  • Strong oral communication and technical writing skills
  • Proficiency with Microstation and Geopak. OpenRoads experience is a plus
