Engineer 1 - Nordstrom Product Group Technology Team (Hybrid - Seattle, WA)

Nordstrom is a leading fashion retailer, and they are seeking an Engineer 1 to join their Technology team. The role involves designing, building, and maintaining technology products and solutions that enhance customer experiences while supporting business needs.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to code, design, collaborates with local team and has scope/accountability
• Tests all scenarios and conforms to quality standards
• Measures and understand local scope
• Conforms to secure coding practices and secure system fundamentals
• Displays knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals related to own work

Skills

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS, Engineering or equivalent degree required
• Contributes to code, design, collaborates with local team and has scope/accountability
• Tests all scenarios and conforms to quality standards
• Measures and understand local scope
• Conforms to secure coding practices and secure system fundamentals
• Displays knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals related to own work
• Background in data & technology
• Familiarity with Object-Oriented programming languages, such as Java, Python, Go, NodeJs, Javascript/Typescript
• Familiarity with RESTful architecture and micro services
• Familiarity with Cloud technologies like AWS and GCP
• Ability to write Unit and Integration Tests
• Good communication skills (verbal and written)
• Comfortable working on team projects and collaborating via version control tools such as GitHub and GitLab
• Professional experience in engineering or related field (preferred), may be recent grad
