Job Title: Sales & Estimation Engineer
Job Summary
A Sales & Estimation Engineer is responsible for preparing cost estimates, technical proposals, and supporting the sales team in securing projects. The role combines technical knowledge, cost analysis, and client interaction to ensure accurate quotations and successful project acquisition.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze client requirements, drawings, and specifications to prepare cost estimates.
Prepare BOQ (Bill of Quantity), cost calculations, and project quotations.
Coordinate with sales, design, procurement, and project teams to gather pricing and technical inputs.
Prepare and submit technical and commercial proposals to clients.
Participate in client meetings, tender discussions, and technical presentations.
Conduct site visits when required to understand project scope.
Evaluate materials, labor, and equipment costs for projects.
Maintain pricing databases and estimation records.
Follow up with clients to support the sales team in closing deals.
Assist in tender documentation and bid submission.
Required Skills
Strong technical understanding of engineering drawings and specifications
Knowledge of cost estimation and BOQ preparation
Good communication and negotiation skills
Proficiency in Excel, AutoCAD, and estimation software
Ability to analyze project scope and prepare accurate quotations
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Civil or relevant field)
1–5 years of experience in sales engineering, estimation, or tendering
Experience with tendering and project costing is preferred
