    Position Overview

    Crown Innovations is seeking an Energy Data Analyst to support survey operations for the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA). This role supports the full survey lifecycle, including data collection, analysis, and report publication.

    The Energy Data Analyst will work as part of an integrated team and assist in the analysis of data collected through weekly, monthly, and annual surveys. This position serves as a frontline communicator with survey respondents, supporting data validation efforts, troubleshooting reporting issues, and resolving anomalous data submissions.

    This is a fully remote position.

    This role offers exposure to federal data programs and provides opportunities to build expertise in large-scale data analysis, survey operations, and government reporting processes, with potential for expanded responsibility over time.

     

    Key Responsibilities

    Data Analysis & Validation

    • Employ multiple analytical techniques on reported survey data to identify errors, omissions, or inconsistencies within microdata and aggregated datasets

  • Analyze reported data to support survey accuracy and integrity
  • Participate in ad hoc analytical projects, including analysis of survey form impacts

    Survey Support & Communication

    • Communicate directly with survey respondents to verify reported data and resolve discrepancies

  • Serve as a frontline resource for respondent inquiries and issue resolution
  • Respond promptly to inquiries and support data collection efforts

    Team Collaboration & Operations

    • Work effectively with team members to deliver high-quality datasets on established schedules

  • Share knowledge and experiences through summary and knowledge transfer activities to support continuous improvement
  • Support baseline operations and evolving process improvements

    Minimum Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must be available during core required hours
  • Reliable at-home internet connection

    Required Skills & Competencies

    • Proficiency with computers, including customer relationship management software and strong typing skills

  • Strong time management and decision-making skills
  • Ability to recognize emerging trends and patterns and respond to changing customer concerns
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical capabilities
  • Professional and confident communication skills with leadership, peers, customers, and government counterparts
  • Ability to work effectively with various stakeholders including contractors, team members, and federal personnel
  • Adaptability to changing processes and openness to constructive feedback
  • Dependable team member with a collaborative mindset and willingness to support team objectives

    Desired Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Professional experience in energy-related fields

  • Experience or knowledge of federal contracts
  • Experience with dataset creation, dataset manipulation, relational database concepts, or data visualization
  • Proficiency with database technologies such as Oracle and SQL
  • Experience with statistical software such as SAS Enterprise
  • Experience with business intelligence tools such as Jaspersoft or Microsoft Power BI

     

    Work Schedule

    Core (Required) Hours: Must be available Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM EST

    Work Environment

    • Fully remote position

  • Collaborative team environment supporting federal survey operations
  • Work performed in a fast-paced, data-driven environment

    Compensation

    Energy Data Analyst – $46,000 – $50,000 annual range

    Compensation is determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and internal equity considerations.

    Crown complies with all applicable state and local pay transparency laws. The listed compensation range represents the good faith salary range for this position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, geographic considerations, and business needs.
