Job Summary
SummaryResponsible for developing computer-generated radiation dose distributions, calculating radiation dose treatment times, or monitoring unit settings to deliver prescribed radiation to a defined tumor volume as prescribed by the physician. Provides the highest level of technical expertise to peers.

Essential Functions
-Supervising, performing, or assisting in simulations and tumor localization using a range of imaging devices, such as PET, MRI, and CT.
-Applies detailed knowledge of radiobiology to treatment plans.
-Consults with peers regarding treatment planning.
-Operates all types of radiation therapy machines and CT simulator technology at assigned location, utilizing the latest treatment techniques.
-Utilizes computer software and various imaging modalities.
-Maintaining accurate documentation in a patient's electronic medical record.
-Function as the senior dosimetrist to provide the highest level of technical expertise to peers.
-Coaches and mentors team.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's Degree Physics required or Bachelor's Degree Life Sciences required or Bachelor's Degree Physical Sciences required or Bachelor's Degree Applied Science required

Licenses and Credentials
Certified Medical Dosimetrist [CMD] - Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board preferred
Experience
Clinical medical dosimetry experience, including 3D conformal and IMRT/VMAT/SBRT treatment planning or basic Proton treatment planning 3-5 years required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of radiation therapy and clinical oncology.
- Possess analytical skills to evaluate test results and understand the body mechanisms behind a patient's reaction to radiation therapy.
- Mathematical skills for generating and interpreting 3D visualizations.
- Excellent listening and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Display strong leadership and communication skills to clearly guide peers.
- Possess a high level of technical expertise in medical dosimetry to analyze and problem-solve complex issues.
