About This Position

The Customer Service Representative 1 position at arenaflex represents the first step in a comprehensive and structured career path within our organization. As a member of our Agent Services department, you will be responsible for delivering exemplary customer service to both our term life policyholders and the agents who serve them. Our Customer Service Representatives handle a diverse range of inquiries, including but not limited to:


  • Responding to verbal and written inquiries regarding term life insurance policies with accuracy and professionalism

  • Assisting clients with billing questions, including payment processing, due dates, and payment method inquiries

  • Explaining policy coverage details, benefits, and contract provisions to policyholders

  • Guiding clients through the underwriting process and answering related questions

  • Processing contract changes, including beneficiary updates, coverage adjustments, and policy modifications

  • Identifying client concerns and asking appropriate questions to fully understand and address their needs

  • Responding to inquiries in a concise, courteous, and efficient manner while maintaining a positive tone

  • Documenting all research findings thoroughly and maintaining accurate customer records

  • Performing corrections identified during customer interactions and forwarding necessary corrections to appropriate parties for processing or approval

  • Recognizing priority situations and escalating appropriately to notify relevant parties when necessary

  • Communicating professionally with clients who may be upset or frustrated, de-escalating situations effectively

  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of company products, procedures, and policies

Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities

Essential Qualifications:


  • Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent

  • Minimum of one year of call center customer service experience preferred, but not required

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to empathize and assist clients effectively

  • Exceptional attention to detail

  • Proficient PC skills with intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word

  • Ability to learn and maintain knowledge of company products and procedures

  • Capability to communicate professionally with clients who may be upset or irate

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Previous experience in the insurance or financial services industry

  • Experience in a call center or customer service environment

  • Knowledge of term life insurance products and concepts

  • Familiarity with underwriting processes and policy administration

  • Bilingual capabilities (Spanish preferred but not required)

Work Schedule and Compensation

Schedule:



  • 40 hours per week

  • Monday through Friday

  • Standard business hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Salary:


The starting salary for this position ranges from $28,000 to $32,000 annually, based on relevant experience and qualifications. We offer competitive compensation packages that recognize the skills and contributions of our team members.

Remote Work Requirements

For team members who qualify for remote work arrangements, the following technical requirements must be met:


  • Personal computer or laptop (PC or MAC)

  • PC must be Windows 10 compatible (Windows 7, 8, or 9 are not acceptable)

  • Chromebooks are not permitted for remote work

  • Internet access with minimum speeds:

    • Upload speed: 8 Mbps

    • Download speed: 15 Mbps
