- Job Description:
- Provides operational, accounting, and consulting services for Tribal governments, including monthly closing, grants management, grant reporting, and financial reporting
- Prepares and records journal entries
- Develops policies and procedures on key accounting matters
- Perform project start-up activities, such as following project work plans, adhering to schedules, and attending kickoff meetings
- Reviews the work of self for accuracy
- Serves as an integral member of our Business Consulting Services team
- Occasionally travels to client locations, firm trainings, or industry conferences
- Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; emphasis in Accounting or related field preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of related experience, not for profit and/or governmental experience preferred
- Experience in grants management, financial accounting including account reconciliation, governmental accounting standards implementation, and/or accounts payable processing preferred
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to understand problems, think critically and identify creative solutions
- Effective time management and organizational skills
- Works independently to prioritize work, establish goals and produce quality work
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and one or more government accounting/grant management software systems
- Ability to travel as needed, approximately 10-15%
