Job Summary
The Collections Manager oversees day-to-day accounts receivable activities, leading a team responsible for insurance and non-insurance AR. This role focuses on driving timely collections, improving processes, and ensuring consistent and effective practices across the team. The position partners closely with attorneys and Finance to support cash flow and resolve outstanding balances.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily AR operations and supervise a team of Collections Coordinators
Monitor and drive collection efforts to ensure timely payment and reduce aging balances
Track and report on key metrics such as collections, aging, and productivity
Provide coaching, feedback, and support to improve team performance
Partner with attorneys to follow up on outstanding balances and resolve issues
Review reports to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement
Ensure consistent application of collections policies and best practices
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field preferred
5–8 years of experience in collections or revenue cycle management, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment
Prior team lead or supervisory experience preferred
Strong understanding of AR processes and collections strategies
Experience with collections systems (Aderant or similar a plus)
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

For the New Jersey, the expected salary range for this position is between $113,750 and $149,250. This position is also eligible for annual bonuses. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
