Posted 2026-05-06The Mission: CloudLinux is at a strategic turning point. We are dismantling the "Feature Factory" and "Cognitive Silos" to build a high-velocity, autonomous R&D organization. We are looking for a CTO who is a technical pioneer, not a bureaucratic manager.
Your mission is to lead the transition into Agentic R&D and Secure-by-Design Infrastructure. You will oversee the development of LLM-powered systems that automate the generation of low-level security rules, while simultaneously hardening the software supply chain. You are here to kill "Technical Bankruptcy," eliminate "Dark Architecture," and ensure we scale through Smart Automation, not "Money Rain."
- What You’ll Drive:1. Strategic R&D Transformation:
- Dismantling Silos: Shift the organization toward autonomous delivery units. Replace "Meeting Theater" and defensive management with a culture of Absolute Ownership and high-speed execution.
- Architectural Velocity & Throughput: Lead the design and delivery of systems built for extreme scalability and enormous throughput. You ensure that our software architecture is never a bottleneck for global traffic, pre-empting performance plateaus before they impact delivery velocity.
- The Interception Layer: Act as the ultimate guardian of technical integrity. Ensure that rapid AI-driven expansion works like a charm.
- 2. AI-Agentic Innovation:
- Orchestrating Autonomy: Architect sophisticated AI agents that automate the boring parts of dev-ops, security research, and malware classification. You don't just "use AI"; you build adaptive systems that redefine industry standards.
- Rapid Prototyping: Lead by doing. You possess the ability to prototype a "thin core" solution over a weekend to prove a concept, bypassing the endless discussion loop that slows down legacy teams.
- 3. Supply Chain & Security Integrity:
- Hardened Origins: Implement a "Secure-by-Design" philosophy across the product line—focusing on SBOMs, signed builds, and the elimination of vulnerabilities at the base-image level.
- Minimalist Architecture: Champion a "Less is More" approach. Drive the move toward hardened, minimal Linux environments that strip away attack surfaces.

- Pioneering Innovation: Hands-on experience in the development and orchestration of sophisticated AI agents, creating autonomous systems servicing platforms that achieve millions of transactions per second.
- Zero-Trust Engineering: Experience building high-scale platforms where Identity-Based Security and Keyless Signing are the defaults. You know how to make security "invisible" to the developer but "impenetrable" to the attacker.
- Exceptional Technical Leadership: You’ve architected and deployed complex, high-scale products. You are an expert at distilling complex technical concepts into clear, compelling value propositions for both investors and customers.
- Global Team Management: Proven ability to mentor highly skilled generalists who can own a problem from the kernel level to the cloud API.
Requirements
- To thrive in this role, we are looking for someone who has:
- 10+ years of technical leadership, with recent, hands-on experience in AI/LLM orchestration.
- Deep Linux/Security DNA: Extensive background in anti-malware, network security, and neutralizing advanced persistent threats (APTs).
- Mastery of Distributed Systems: Experience with systems ingesting billions of files and managing petabytes of data.
- Candid Leadership: A track record of providing unvarnished feedback. You call out "Technical Bankruptcy" when you see it and have the backbone to execute the refactors necessary for long-term survival.
