M&T Bank is a financial institution seeking a Banking Services Operations Associate III to manage mortgage payment processing and maintenance tasks. The role involves data entry, document review, and communication with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate processing of mortgage-related transactions.
Responsibilities
- Complete routine data entry, system updates and validation related to mortgage payments, payoffs and special product maintenance
- Complete standardized document review and validation related to mortgage notes, modifications and ACH (Automated ClearingHouse) agreements
- Complete basic documentation preparation related to mortgage loan modification documents
- Respond to or initiate standard requests on exception payment applications or mortgage document term research
- Complete mid-level complexity research into maintenance completed, payments and payoffs
- Complete entry-level reconciliations of system maintenance and cash work as required by assigned area
- Complete routine or standardized exception processing of payments, payoffs and ARM (Adjustable Rate Mortgage) criteria outside current system logic
- Maintain contact with internal business partners and external customers as required in completing assigned responsibilities
- Work with, assist and complete quality control of offshore vendors who are processing work on behalf of the Bank
- Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management
- Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand
- Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable
- Complete other related duties as assigned
Skills
- Associates' degree, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 2 years' higher education and/or work experience
- Proven internal and external customer service experience
- Proficiency with personal computers as well as pertinent spreadsheet and word processing software
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills
- Minimum of 1 year's relevant experience
