Associate - Tax Services

Aspiriant is a leading, independent, 100% employee-owned wealth management firm. They are seeking an entry-level Tax Associate who will prepare individual income tax returns, assist with tax planning, and collaborate with wealth managers and clients to support tax preparation and planning efforts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare individual income tax returns and related workpapers; progressively expand to partnerships, corporations, trusts, foundations, and gift returns
• Provide aid in preparing responses to tax notices, and gain exposure to audits
• Participate in tax planning and research
• Participate with wealth managers and clients to ascertain, track, and preserve data needed for tax preparation and planning
• Assist with ad hoc projects

Skills

• Solid foundation in individual taxation from coursework; eagerness to learn entity tax
• Familiarity with professional tax software/workpaper systems (we will train)
• Interest in wealth management and high net worth client service
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
• Clear written and verbal communication; strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Team-oriented mindset; professionalism in client service
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting (or equivalent with accounting coursework)
• Internship or up to 2 years' experience in tax or public accounting
• CPA eligibility or sections passed; Master's in Taxation or MBT
