Position Overview
As an APAC Payroll Specialist at arenaflex, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of employee net pay across multiple countries in the Asia-Pacific region. This newly created position is based in our Philippines office and works closely with Finance and Payroll teams throughout APAC.
You will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of payroll accuracy while ensuring compliance with local regulations and statutory requirements. Your attention to detail and commitment to excellence will directly impact our employees' experience and trust in our organization.
Key Responsibilities
As a key member of our payroll operations team, you will be entrusted with the following responsibilities:
- Payroll Processing: Process payroll for assigned APAC countries using third-party payroll providers, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in every cycle.
- Expense Management: Process weekly expenses in-house through Workday Host-to-Host payment systems with precision and attention to detail.
- Employee Data Management: Prepare, post, and process payroll changes including new hires and leavers for each entity, delivering timely updates to payroll providers through Workday HCM.
- Compliance Management: Report new hires and leavers' files to the payroll company within required timelines, ensuring all new hire documentation complies with regulatory standards.
- Data Validation: Validate payroll input against payroll checks and coordinate with payroll carriers for necessary changes and corrections.
- Payment Coordination: Coordinate with payroll providers to ensure timely payout to employees and statutory payments are processed correctly.
- Reporting: Carry out tasks associated with monthly, quarterly, and year-end payroll reporting and taxation requirements.
- Employee Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for employees on payroll-related questions through the Zendesk ticketing system, providing outstanding support and resolution.
- Budget Management: Record, screen, and analyze monthly payroll costs, raising purchase orders as required.
- Vendor Management: Report and monitor payroll providers' contract renewal dates to ensure continuous service excellence.
- Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with Philippines and Singapore team members while following global system alignment protocols.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you must possess the following qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Management, or a related field is required.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll and accounting processing within a BPO or shared services environment.
- Regional Expertise: Experience working with APAC payroll, specifically in Korea, Australia, and India, is a must-have qualification.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of payroll and associated statutory labor laws required for accurate payroll-related calculations.
- Technical Proficiency: Above-average proficiency in Google Docs, Sheets, Gmail, Microsoft Excel and Word, and Workday HCM systems.
- Language Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are essential for this role.
