AP Math Teacher - Online

We are seeking a highly qualified online mathematics teacher to deliver high-quality instruction in calculus and proof-based linear algebra.

The ideal candidate will help students move beyond computational proficiency to develop rigorous mathematical reasoning, abstraction skills, and the ability to construct and communicate formal proofs.

This role is designed for a instructor who can:

Teach live, synchronous online classes in:
• Calculus (differential and integral)
• Proof-based Linear Algebra (vector spaces, linear transformations, eigenvalues, inner product spaces)

Design and deliver lessons that emphasize:
• Mathematical rigor and logical structure
• Proof-writing techniques (direct proof, contradiction, induction)
• Conceptual understanding over rote procedures

Guide students in:
• Writing clear, logically sound mathematical proofs
• Transitioning from computational math to abstract reasoning
• Reading and understanding formal mathematical texts

Develop and grade assignments, including:
• Problem sets combining computation and proofs
• Proof-writing exercises and take-home assessments
• Provide individualized feedback to improve students’ clarity, rigor, and mathematical communication

Prepare advanced students for:
• College-level mathematics courses
• Competitions or enrichment programs (optional)

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or a closely related field (Master’s or PhD preferred)
• Strong background in proof-based linear algebra and advanced calculus
• Demonstrated ability to teach mathematical proof techniques effectively
• Experience teaching in an online, live (synchronous) environment preferred
• Excellent communication skills, especially in explaining abstract concepts clearly

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
