California Department of State Hospitals is a secure public sector hospital providing inpatient forensic services. They are seeking an Analyst I to analyze and develop policies for the implementation of Fi$Cal and assist with various accounting-related tasks.


Responsibilities

  • Analyze and develop policies and procedures in the implementation of Fi$Cal
  • Use judgment in interpreting and adapting guidelines such as policies, laws and rules, manuals, and job aids for application in Fi$Cal
  • Post Journal Entries for Prison Industry Authority & Department of General Services
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor Fi$Cal databases/spreadsheets to ensure compliance with mandated timelines for responses to control agencies
  • Maintain CalATERS Tables and assist employees with the CalATERS program to process expense, license, and travel reimbursements
  • Assist and train employees on new processes in Fi$Cal
  • Perform problem solving and correct errors in daily activities in order to achieve the department goals and objectives
  • Develop and maintain weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports; audits
  • Back up Accountant I desks in their absence

Skills

  • Eligibility by way of one of the following: reachable on a certification list, have transfer eligibility, or have reinstatement eligibility
  • Ability to analyze and develop policies and procedures in the implementation of Fi$Cal
  • Judgment in interpreting and adapting guidelines such as policies, laws and rules, manuals, and job aids for application in Fi$Cal
  • Ability to post Journal Entries for Prison Industry Authority & Department of General Services
  • Ability to develop, maintain, and monitor Fi$Cal databases/spreadsheets to ensure compliance with mandated timelines for responses to control agencies
