Job Description

The position of Alternate Site Regional Business Manager: West is within BD’s Specimen Management (SM) Business Unit. BD’s Specimen Management portfolio is an extensive and comprehensive range of clinically differentiated products helping to deliver specimen quality and integrity, improved patient experience, and a safe environment for healthcare workers.

The Alternate Site Regional Business Manager: West is responsible for driving revenue growth and market penetration within BD’s Specimen Management portfolio across the Alternate Site channel. This role focuses on executing national strategy at the field level, managing key accounts, aiding distributor partnerships, and expanding BD’s presence across physician offices, reference labs, ambulatory networks, and non-acute IDNs.

This is a high-impact, field-facing role requiring strong commercial execution, relationship management, and the ability to operate in a dynamic, fast-growing channel. This is a high-growth environment that is intended to prepare you for broader roles/responsibilities within the organization.

Key Responsibilities: Critical to success in this role will be the candidate’s strategic capability and growth mindset. Tasked with delivering revenue results by driving customer and distributor engagement, and operating effectively within a fast-growing, constantly evolving, matrixed organization. Territory & Account Management: Own and manage a defined territory of alternate site accounts. Build and execute territory business plans, and develop relationships with clinical, operational, and procurement stakeholders.

Sales Execution & Growth: Drive adoption of BD Specimen Management products through value-based selling (clinical & operational outcomes), national contract pull-through, and new product launches.

Distributor Execution: Partner closely with your field-based distributor reps to execute on corporate-level dealer incentive agreements at the local level.

Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with sales leadership, marketing, finance, and operations to ensure strategies align with overall BD priorities.

Performance Management & Reporting: Manage territory performance against defined KPIs, maintain an accurate pipeline, and provide regular updates on market dynamics, competitive activity, and customer insights.

Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing

3-5+ years of relevant experience in sales

Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a field-based role

Strong understanding of the alternate site healthcare environment (physician office, labs, outpatient)

Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in ambiguity

High potential leader – ambitious, resourceful, and motivated to take on great responsibilities as the business grows.

Ability to travel >80% within your multi-state region

Preferred Qualifications: MBA a plus but not required

Medical device or healthcare industry preferred
