Job Description:
The University of Florida is looking for a Regional Admissions Officer II to serve as a dynamic ambassador for the Gator Nation in the greater New York City area. In this role, you will drive recruitment strategy and territory management across New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut while representing UF, engaging prospective students and families, and supporting the admissions review process.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Territory Management & Recruitment
Serve as the primary admissions representative for New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut
Travel to high schools, state colleges, and regional fairs to promote UF and its admission pathways (UF Residential, UF Online, Innovation Academy, PaCE)
Build and maintain relationships with high school counselors and college advisors
Meet with prospective students and families to guide them through the admissions process
Plan and execute recruitment events, yield initiatives, and territory travel logistics
Analyze recruitment data, trends, and visit outcomes to identify opportunities
Develop and implement a strategic territory plan aligned with enrollment goals
Maintain accurate records of student and school interactions
Prepare reports and provide updates and recommendations to admissions leadership
Student Engagement
Deliver engaging in-person and virtual information sessions
Respond to admissions inquiries via phone, email, virtual platforms, and in person
Provide accurate, timely, and student-centered guidance
Serve as a knowledgeable and approachable UF ambassador
Application Review
Participate in holistic review of freshman applications
Evaluate academic records, test scores, resumes, and personal statements
Assess admissibility in alignment with UF’s standards
Other Duties
Participate in training and professional development to stay current on admissions practices
Manage administrative responsibilities related to remote work and campus coordination
Perform other duties as assigned in support of Office of Admissions and Enrollment Management initiatives
Expected Salary:
$70,000 annually

Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in an appropriate area; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience.
Valid drivers license is required.
Valid passport, or ability to obtain, is required.
Preferred:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to simplify and clearly communicate complex admissions information
Proven ability to deliver engaging presentations and represent an institution confidently in front of large groups
Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to build relationships and collaborate with students, families, counselors, and colleagues
Ability to exercise sound judgment, take initiative, and work independently in a remote, territory-based role
Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
Highly organized with the ability to manage a demanding travel schedule, prioritize competing responsibilities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Experience with student recruitment, admissions, or outreach in a college, university, or educational setting
Special Instructions to Applicants:
The Regional Admissions Recruiter will be responsible for student engagement and recruitment within the New York City area. The selected candidate must work from a home office located within the five boroughs of NYC.
