Active Directory Engineer

This position is full time remote and requires an active secret clearance.

Accelera Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Active Directory Engineer to support enterprise identity, access, and infrastructure services within a secure Department of Defense (DoD) environment. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Microsoft Active Directory, Windows Server environments, and enterprise-scale identity management, with experience supporting mission-critical systems across classified and unclassified networks.

This role will support design, administration, optimization, and security hardening of Active Directory services across on-premises and cloud-integrated environments.

Key Responsibilities:


• Design, implement, administer, and maintain Active Directory (AD DS), Group Policy (GPO), DNS, and DHCP 
  
• Manage user accounts, service accounts, and privileged access controls in accordance with DoD security policies 
  
• Perform Active Directory health monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting 
  
• Support identity lifecycle management, including provisioning, de-provisioning, and access reviews 
  
• Implement and maintain AD security hardening, auditing, and compliance with DoD RMF and NIST standards 
  
• Support patching, vulnerability remediation, and system updates using tools such as SCCM or similar 
  
• Integrate AD with cloud environments (Azure AD, AWS, hybrid identity solutions) 
  
• Support incident response, root cause analysis, and remediation for identity-related issues 
  
• Maintain documentation, system diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) 
  
• Collaborate with cybersecurity, network, and DevSecOps teams to ensure secure and reliable operations 
  
• Provide Tier 2/3 escalation support and mentorship to junior engineers (if applicable)
