Controller, Client Service

QuantFi is an AI-enabled finance and accounting department for scaling, investor-backed, and transition-stage companies. We run close, reporting, and accounting operations for SMB clients across SaaS, CPG and SMB business models inside a managed service we're fully accountable for.

We're hiring a Controller to own client delivery at the controller level across a portfolio of engagements. You'll run the accounting function for multiple clients, produce reporting their leadership and lenders can rely on, and be the technical voice on the engagements you lead.

    What you'll own
  • Monthly close across assigned client engagements, including journal entries, reconciliations, and review
  • Revenue recognition across subscription (ASC 606, deferred revenue, contract modifications) and project-based work (milestone, percentage-of-completion, WIP, unbilled receivables)
  • Monthly reporting packages: P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, KPI dashboards, variance commentary
  • AR, AP, and billing oversight across client engagements
  • Payroll and benefits accounting oversight
  • Sales tax, state registrations, and tax coordination with client CPAs
  • Audit and lender review readiness
  • Technical accounting questions that come up in client work
  • Client relationships at the finance leadership level (CFO, founder, operator)
  • Quality control on deliverables before they reach the client
    Who you are
  • 7+ years of accounting experience, 2+ in a controller or senior accounting manager role
  • CPA preferred
  • Direct experience with ASC 606 across subscription and project-based models
  • Fluent in QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, or Sage Intacct; strong Excel
  • Small-company or fractional experience where you built process, not just operated inside it
  • Clear communicator who can explain a variance or an accounting treatment to a non-finance founder without losing them
  • Comfortable managing multiple clients, shifting priorities, and owning outcomes
  • Direct, honest, willing to push back when something's off
    Nice to have
  • Multi-entity or PE portfolio company experience
  • Lender covenant reporting experience
  • CRM / billing / GL integration experience (Salesforce, HubSpot, Stripe)
  • Industry experience in software, professional services, or recurring-revenue businesses
    What this is
  • Full-time W-2. Remote. Base salary plus performance bonus. You'll work directly with the Managing Partners and engagement leads on a portfolio of long-hold, owner-operated, and investor-backed clients.
