They are seeking an Accountant I (Specialist) to perform routine and complex accounting work related to Claims Processing and Benefit Payment Control activities, ensuring the integrity of the Unemployment Insurance Trust Fund.


Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and complex semi-professional accounting work
  • Perform account maintenance functions related to the Claims Processing and Benefit Payment Control activities
  • Include fraud prevention and detection
  • Establishment of overpayments
  • Provide employer and claimant assistance
  • Maintenance of employer and claimant accounts to ensure the integrity of the Unemployment Insurance (UI) Trust Fund

Skills

  • Must have accounting education and experience
  • Must be able to perform routine and complex semi-professional accounting work
  • Must be able to perform account maintenance functions related to Claims Processing and Benefit Payment Control activities
  • Must be able to assist in fraud prevention and detection
  • Must be able to establish overpayments
  • Must be able to assist employers and claimants
  • Must maintain employer and claimant accounts to ensure the integrity of the Unemployment Insurance (UI) Trust Fund
  • Must obtain list eligibility by taking and passing the examination
  • Must meet the Minimum Qualifications stated in the Classification Specification(s)
