The OAI L1 5G stack is a fully open-source implementation of the 5G/NR physical layer (3GPP 38.2xx, Rel. 15), written in C and running on generic Intel/AMD-based and ARM-based CPUs.
- It supports both gNB and UE implementations, covering:
- All FR1 bandwidths with 256-QAM
- SISO and up to 4-layer MIMO in both downlink and uplink
- 100 MHz and 200 MHz bandwidths in FR2
The stack includes all control and transport channels required for 5G standalone (SA) operation, along with SRS and CSI-RS support for advanced MIMO functionalities, including Massive MIMO.
The full list of supported features can be found here: https://gitlab.eurecom.fr/oai/openairinterface5g/-/blob/develop/doc/FEATURE_SET.md#gnb-phy
