What You'll Do
As a Senior Data Scientist at arenaflex, you will be responsible for designing, building, and deploying advanced machine learning models and analytical solutions. Your work will directly influence business strategies and help drive organizational success. Here is what you can expect in this role:
- Build Innovative Models: Develop cutting-edge models and tools using your technical expertise in machine learning, statistical modeling, probability and decision theory, and other quantitative methods. You will innovate by adapting to new modeling techniques and staying current with emerging methodologies.
- Understand Business Context: You will dive deep into the business reality behind large datasets and develop meaningful analytical solutions that address real-world challenges. Your ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights will be key to your success.
- Apply Advanced Analytics: Use rigorous statistical techniques to analyze large volumes of data, including predictive statistical models, customer profiling, segmentation analysis, survey design, and data mining. You will build recommendation and optimization algorithms, perform data retrieval, complexity analysis, and scientific computing.
- Program with Modern Technologies: Work with our tech stack including Python, PySpark, Matplotlib, TensorFlow, and PyTorch to build robust analytical solutions.
- Implement Machine Learning Techniques: Apply supervised and unsupervised algorithms to build predictive models and prescriptive solutions that support diverse business use cases. This includes decision trees, regression, XGBoost, K-means, and anomaly detection.
- Leverage Cloud Computing: Utilize cloud platforms such as Azure and Databricks, and perform querying in Snowflake to manage and analyze data at scale.
- Collaborate Across Functions: Partner with finance, researchers, software developers, and business leaders to define product requirements and provide analytical support. You will work as a trusted advisor, translating technical concepts for diverse audiences.
- Communicate Effectively: Present your findings verbally and in writing to business clients and management teams with varying levels of technical expertise. You will educate stakeholders about our systems and share insights that drive informed decision-making.
What We're Looking For

Essential Qualifications
- Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree with a minimum of four years of experience in data science, machine learning, quantitative or computational fields; OR High School diploma/GED with a minimum of seven years of experience in these areas.
- Advanced Degree: M.S. in STEM, Computer Science, Information Systems, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related field is strongly preferred.
- Technical Experience: At least four years of experience working with large-scale, complex datasets to create and optimize machine learning, predictive, forecasting, and/or optimization models.
- Programming Skills: Advanced experience in SQL, Python, PySpark, or other programming languages.
- Analytical Expertise: Advanced proficiency in exploratory data analysis, feature engineering and selection, detecting patterns, analyzing distributions, visualizing results, and extracting insights to help businesses make informed data-driven decisions.
- Machine Learning Knowledge: Experience using decision trees and building classifiers, along with supervised learning techniques (linear and logistic regression, time series modeling, generalized linear models, decision trees, support vector machines) and unsupervised learning techniques (K-means, hierarchical clustering, association rules, principal components).
- Cloud Experience: Experience with cloud ML systems, distributed computing, data pipelines, cloud data stores, and serving engines.
- Experimental Design: Experience designing and analyzing A/B experiments.
- Communication Skills: Advanced ability to convey rigorous technical standards and issues to non-experts, and experience effectively communicating technical solutions to data scientists, engineering teams, and business audiences.
- Business Acumen: At least two years of experience contributing to economic decisions within the workplace.
- Leadership Experience: At least two years of direct management, indirect management, and/or cross-functional team management experience.
- Travel: Willingness to travel up to at least 10% of the time for business purposes, both domestically and internationally.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. in STEM, Computer Science, Information Systems, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.
- Experience working with IoT and Edge AI is a plus.
- Experience in Reinforcement Learning is a plus.
- Experience in Healthcare is a plus.
