What You'll Do
As a Senior Data Scientist at arenaflex, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our audience modeling capabilities and driving measurable business outcomes. Your technical expertise will be crucial in developing solutions that enable precise targeting and strategic audience segmentation.
- Develop and Optimize Audience Models: Create and refine target audience classification models that predict and target strategic audience attributes, including brand affinity, purchase behavior, psychographics, and demographic characteristics. Your models will enable advertisers to reach the right consumers with the right message at the right time.
- Integrate Complex Datasets: Work with diverse data sources including digital event logs, streaming data, sports event metadata, and behavioral data feeds. You'll curate these datasets into carefully designed, reusable data models that power downstream analytics and advertising applications.
- Publish Audience Insights: Distribute audience attributes across multiple ad-serving endpoints, ensuring seamless integration with our advertising technology stack and enabling real-time targeting capabilities.
- Scale Machine Learning Operations: Maintain and enhance machine learning pipelines, enabling model training and scoring at unprecedented scale while ensuring reliability and performance.
- Build Data Processing Infrastructure: Develop and own data processing pipelines that stitch together streaming, advertising, and other data feeds operating at terabyte scale, creating robust and efficient data workflows.
- Transform Complex Relationships: Translate intricate data relationships into consumable and intuitive data models that stakeholders across the organization can leverage for strategic decision-making.
- Implement Modern Tooling: Work with cutting-edge authoring, orchestration, and monitoring tools to build maintainable and scalable data science solutions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with strategic business units to ensure data products align with revenue goals and overall business objectives, acting as a bridge between technical capabilities and business requirements.
Key Qualifications
We're seeking a candidate who brings a unique blend of technical prowess, business acumen, and innovative thinking. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment where they can apply their expertise to solve complex advertising challenges.
- 5+ Years of Experience: Demonstrated experience in data science or data engineering, including fluency in machine learning methodologies and how they relate to underlying datasets and business applications.
- Cloud Platform Expertise: Strong experience with Google Cloud Platform, including exceptional proficiency in BigQuery or similar SQL-based massive data warehouse solutions. You should be comfortable designing and optimizing complex queries across large datasets.
- Programming Proficiency: Solid experience in Python, with a proven ability to read, write, audit, and document code. Experience with version control and collaborative development practices is essential.
- Technical Documentation: Ability to write detailed technical requirements that clearly communicate specifications to engineering teams and stakeholders.
- Strategic & Hands-On Thinker: Innovative thinker capable of operating both strategically (big-picture perspective, constantly asking "why") and execution-focused (detail-oriented, conscientious about quality and accuracy).
Nice to Have Skills

- Experience with Apache Beam and Apache Spark for distributed data processing
- Proficiency in data pipeline orchestration tools such as Airflow, Snowpipe, or similar workflow management systems
- Experience maintaining group projects in Git and GitHub, including collaborative coding practices
- Experience developing internal APIs and integrating data services
- Background in advertising technology, real-time bidding, or programmatic advertising
- Familiarity with streaming data architectures and event-driven systems
Basic Education Requirements
