We're currently seeking a talented and visionary Senior Data Science Manager to lead our Notification Systems data science team. The Role
As the Senior Data Science Manager for Notification Systems at arenaflex, you will serve as a technical leader and mentor for a high-performing team of data scientists. You will be responsible for shaping our notification strategy through rigorous experimentation and precise analytical methodologies. This role offers the chance to work at the intersection of product development, user experience, and advanced analytics, where your insights will directly impact how millions of people interact with our platform every single day.
You will own the unified notifications platform, which encompasses push notifications, badging systems, email communications, SMS alerts, and other communication channels. Your leadership will ensure that every notification delivered meets our high standards for relevance, timing, and value—ultimately driving long-term user engagement and satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Development: Maintain exceptional standards for analytical depth and product thinking within your team. Lead recruiting efforts to attract top-tier data science talent and provide ongoing mentorship to foster professional growth and technical excellence.
- Strategic Planning: Set clear goals and define key metrics to guide and prioritize product roadmap initiatives. Ensure alignment between team efforts and broader organizational objectives.
- Analysis & Experimentation: Lead comprehensive research studies to identify new product opportunities and shape overall product strategy. Design and execute A/B tests and causal inference experiments to validate hypotheses and measure impact.
- Opportunity Assessment: Size and evaluate potential opportunities to ensure product teams are working on the highest-impact projects. Translate complex data into actionable recommendations for stakeholders.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with engineering, product, design, and research teams to drive strategic initiatives. Build strong relationships with cross-functional leaders and influence product decisions through data-driven insights.
- Innovation & Learning: Execute high-priority learning initiatives and measurement strategies. Continuously improve analytical processes and methodologies across the organization.
- Executive Presence: Serve as a member of the core leadership team with direct accountability for the success and health of this product area. Present findings and recommendations to executive stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Economics, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience: Minimum 3+ years of experience in Product Data Science with depth in experimentation design, execution, and analysis.
- Team Management: 3+ years of experience building and leading high-performing data science and analytics teams, including experience managing other managers.
- Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of predictive modeling, machine learning, and experimental/causal inference methodologies. Proficiency with large-scale data processing and analysis tools.
- Business Acumen: Demonstrated judgment in balancing practical business needs with analytical rigor. Ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaboration: Proven experience building and maintaining partnerships with cross-functional leaders in engineering, product, design, and research.
- Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex analytical concepts to diverse audiences, from technical teams to executive stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in a quantitative field such as Economics, Computer Science, Physics, or related discipline.
- Experience working with notification systems, messaging platforms, or consumer-facing communication products.
- Deep expertise in behavioral science and user psychology, with the ability to apply these principles to notification design.
- Experience with distributed computing systems and big data technologies.
- Background in social media, consumer technology, or marketplace platforms.
- Proven track record of driving measurable business impact through data science initiatives.

Compensation & Benefits
