Position Overview
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Analytics Engineer to join our growing Healthcare Analytics team at arenaflex. In this critical role, you will collaborate with our internal IT information design and examination groups to implement and maintain robust data infrastructure conditions that enable sophisticated report automation for the arenaflex Healthcare Quality Improvement program—specifically focused on Data and Insight commercialization.
As a Senior Analytics Engineer at arenaflex, you'll work alongside a cross-functional team of data experts, Business Intelligence engineers, system administrators, and information consumers to deliver high-impact performance insights across the arenaflex Health ecosystem. Key Responsibilities
- Lead Data Delivery Initiatives: Direct the delivery of arenaflex Health data and insights-driven projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and timelines.
- Data Infrastructure Management: Support long-term and ad-hoc data ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) and data warehousing activities to meet arenaflex Health reporting and analysis requirements.
- Database Development: Plan, develop, and deploy layered databases and data pipelines to support reporting and analysis projects across the enterprise.
- Data Modeling: Create data planning and preprocessing standards for populating logical and physical data models attached to report-specific working tables for both enterprise business intelligence and predefined reporting solutions.
- ETL/ELT Excellence: Apply industry-leading data extraction, transformation, and loading best practices to integrate large datasets from various internal arenaflex production system sources and third-party files.
- Data Analysis & Profiling: Perform comprehensive data profiling and analysis across internal production systems, manually maintained data, and standard healthcare datasets including member eligibility, clinical claims, pharmacy claims, and HEDIS ECDS records.
- Automation Innovation: Develop internal tools for automation of all development-related activities including data processing, quality assurance, data validation, and deployment workflows.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with technical teams, internal partners, clients, and vendor partners to ensure seamless data flow and accurate reporting capabilities.
- Thought Leadership: Provide thought leadership and present tool-agnostic semantic data layer enhancements related to Business Intelligence technology platforms such as PowerBI, Tableau, or Looker.
Essential Qualifications
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field.
- Technical Expertise: Proven, hands-on experience writing and tuning SQL-based ETL/ELT scripts with a strong understanding of database optimization techniques.
- Cloud Data Platform Experience: Experience designing and deploying logically separated data environments using ETL/ELT services including Azure Data Factory, Databricks, or Snowflake.
- Business Intelligence Proficiency: Demonstrated experience providing thought leadership and presenting semantic data layer enhancements connected to BI technology platforms such as PowerBI, Tableau, or Looker.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical teams, internal stakeholders, clients, and vendor partners.
- Business Acumen: Minimum of 2 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace, with the ability to understand the business impact of data solutions.
- Leadership Experience: At least 2 years of direct leadership, indirect management, and/or cross-functional team leadership experience.
- Travel Flexibility: Willing and able to travel up to 5% of the time for business purposes, including both in-state and out-of-state travel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Certification: Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) or equivalent industry-recognized data analytics certification.
- Healthcare Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of pharmacy, healthcare, and clinical research concepts, including familiarity with healthcare data standards and regulations.
- Advanced Analytics Tools: Experience with advanced analytics and visualization tools beyond the core platforms mentioned.
- Healthcare Data Standards: Familiarity with HEDIS measures, clinical data standards, and healthcare interoperability frameworks.
