As a Customer Service Associate at arenaflex, you will be the first point of contact for our valued customers. You'll play a pivotal role in creating positive customer experiences that not only meet but exceed expectations. Your friendly, respectful approach will help build lasting relationships with our customers, encouraging them to return to arenaflex again and again – ultimately driving revenue growth across all our locations.
This position reports to the Assistant Store Manager or Store Manager and is essential to maintaining our reputation for excellence in customer service and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
As a key member of the arenaflex team, your responsibilities will include:
- Customer Experience Excellence: Serve as the first point of contact for all customers in a friendly, approachable, and professional manner. Strive to be the positive point of contact that makes customers feel valued and appreciated, encouraging long-term loyalty to arenaflex.
- Store Appearance and Maintenance: Assist management in maintaining the total interior and exterior appearance of the store to our high standards. This includes thorough cleaning and systematic stocking of shelves, display cases, and all product areas to ensure a clean, inviting shopping environment.
- Compliance with Regulations: Adhere strictly to all State and Federal Laws regarding alcohol and cigarette sales. Understand and follow age verification procedures and maintain proper documentation as required by law.
- Pricing and Product Knowledge: Maintain familiarization with all pricing policies and be prepared to answer customer questions about products, prices, and promotions accurately and confidently.
- Effective Communication: Communicate promptly and professionally with management regarding any and all discrepancies in sales, cash handling, inventory, or any other operational areas that may require attention.
- Point of Sale Operations: Accurately ring in all sales through our point-of-sale system, ensuring every transaction is processed correctly and efficiently while maintaining a positive checkout experience for customers.
- Cash Handling and Control: Accurately account for and control cash in your drawer, ensuring all cash handling procedures are followed precisely to remain within Company guidelines at all times.
- Market Awareness: Help monitor competitors' retail gasoline prices and promptly report any significant changes to management. When necessary and with management assistance, adjust retail gasoline prices to remain competitive in the market.
- Asset Protection: Protect Company assets at all times through vigilant attention to security, safety, and loss prevention. This includes being proactive in identifying potential issues before they become problems.
- Weather-Related Duties: When weather conditions require, you may be asked to shovel and spread salt on sidewalks and company property, including pump islands. This also includes clearing ice and snow off fuel dispensers and accurately recording such activity as required.
- Food Service Excellence: Take responsibility for the maintenance of coffee supplies, reach-in coolers, and overall cleaning of the store. This includes, but is not limited to, cleaning of shelves, coffee stations, and cold drink dispensaries to ensure food safety and cleanliness standards are always met.
- Equipment Monitoring: May be required to check refrigeration equipment for proper performance, specifically regarding temperature maintenance to ensure product quality and safety.
- Maintenance Reporting: Report all maintenance problems to management promptly, including but not limited to accidents, security issues, and other emergencies. Your attention to detail helps keep our locations safe and functional for both customers and team members.
- Confidentiality: Maintain the highest level of confidentiality regarding company operations, customer information, and any proprietary business information.
- Flexibility and Team Support: Be willing to work in other departments as necessary to support overall store operations and customer service needs. This may include covering different stations or assisting with special projects during peak times.
- Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by management, understanding that flexibility and a team-oriented attitude are essential to success at arenaflex.
Position Requirements
Essential Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- Customer Service Skills: Demonstrated great customer service skills with the ability to interact positively with customers and team members.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Availability: Must be flexible with schedules, as store hours vary. This position may require working typical 8-hour days or covering other shifts as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail, customer service, or food service positions.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and cash handling procedures.
- Knowledge of food safety and handling regulations.
- Experience in fast-paced environments with proven ability to multitask effectively.
