Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results driven and forward-thinking Staff Accountant to join our amazing culture. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for day-to-day operations, month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes for inventory and cost accounting functions.
Responsibilities
- Under supervision, responsible for day-to-day operations, month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes for the inventory and cost accounting functions
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Understand technical accounting and provide sufficient documentation supporting entries
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and research variances for assigned accounts
- Manage the maintenance and periodic updates of cost accounting records
- Assist with periodic physical inventory
- Assist with B/S and P&L variance analysis including variances against budget and prior periods, providing detailed insights and actionable recommendations to management
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements and internal management reports
- Use accounting standards and internal company policies to analyze and propose solutions for accounting issues
- Collaborate with other departments to gather financial information and support business operations
- Assist with periodic audits and provide necessary documentation
- Participate in special projects and process improvement initiatives
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited university or college
- 1-3 years accounting related experience
- CPA or progression toward CPA
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Curious mindset, eagerness to learn and open to new challenges
- Self-motivation, a “can-do” attitude
- High attention to detail
- Flexibility; ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Strong planning and organizational skills; ability to meet tight deadlines
- Strong team player able to effectively collaborate with others within and outside accounting teams
- Adaptability and enthusiasm for embracing new technology
- Public accounting audit experience
- Experience working in cost accounting function within a manufacturing or construction company
- NetSuite or other large ERP experience
