Position Overview
As an Information Researcher - Real World Evidence at arenaflex, you will be responsible for generating Real World Evidence through advanced research and innovative methodologies in the clinical trials space. You will be an integral part of our Scientific Issues team, working alongside talented professionals who share your passion for data-driven healthcare solutions.
In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to influence both internal and external decision-making through the use of innovative data science and technology. You will lead sophisticated data analyses to help address critical business questions, working on projects that have real impact on patient care and treatment development.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Mining and Analysis: Mine raw datasets to deliver normalized, analysis-ready patient cohorts from in-house data resources or licensed platforms. Analyze and interpret results while shaping the overall analysis strategy to maximize insights.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with various members of the arenaflex Clinical Trial teams to deliver meaningful insights from real-world, clinical, and other data sources to support biopharmaceutical RWE and clinical trial requests. Potential projects include analysis of unmet needs, safe and effective treatment in specific disease states, treatment patterns and healthcare economic burden, and cost-effectiveness modeling.
- Data Management: Clean, transform, and store data into a unified data lake for future analysis and broader team utilization. Ensure data quality and integrity throughout the data lifecycle.
- Statistical Analysis: Perform data mining and statistical analysis to analyze RWE/Real World Data (RWD) to discover new insights regarding patient populations and treatment outcomes. Apply advanced statistical techniques to extract meaningful patterns.
- Capability Development: Support the development of real-world data, analysis, and platform capabilities, applying advanced analytics and tools to answer scientific questions from biopharmaceutical organizations.
- Research Collaboration: Collaborate on the design and execution of outcomes research studies, ensuring methodological rigor and scientific validity.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure high-quality, rigorous, and readily interpretable outputs from RWE reviews and investigations. Maintain high standards for accuracy and reproducibility.
- Reporting and Visualization: Build dashboards, analyses, and reports for internal and external use, effectively communicating complex findings to diverse audiences.
- Vendor Evaluation: Conduct due diligence on new real-world data providers and vendors, driving RWD quality assessments to inform project decisions.
Essential Qualifications
- Technical Expertise: Minimum 2 years of experience with R, Python, or SQL programming languages. Strong proficiency in at least one statistical programming language is required.
- Research Experience: Experience designing and executing effective and reproducible statistical investigations in the context of epidemiology and observational research with healthcare data. Familiarity with real-world data sources and their applications.
- Statistical Knowledge: Knowledge of common statistical testing methods including generalized linear models, classification and regression, decision trees, unsupervised learning, time series analysis, and survival analysis.
- Data Handling: Experience processing large data from various data sources. Comfortable working with complex, multi-dimensional datasets.
- Healthcare Data Compliance: Experience handling protected patient health information with strict adherence to privacy regulations and data security protocols.
- Visualization Tools: Knowledge of at least one of the following: Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, Spotfire, or other BI/visualization tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Healthcare Data Systems: Proficiency in EMR/Health IT systems, disease registries, and insurance claims databases. Understanding of electronic health record data structures and workflows.
- Clinical Data Standards: Expertise in clinical data standards, clinical terminologies, and controlled vocabularies used in healthcare data and ontologies (ICD-9/10/ReadCode).
- Regulatory Knowledge: Experience in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and/or regulatory compliance guidelines for real-world evidence studies or clinical trials (e.g., ISO, MDD/MDR, CFR).
- Alternative Data Sources: Experience managing alternative data sources and alternative methods for clinical data collection, especially those enabled by technology platforms and/or solutions.
- Advanced Analytics: Experience with trial design, Bayesian modeling, sequential data, and computational statistics.
- Continuous Learning: Understanding of statistics and machine learning techniques, with the ability to pursue self-learning of both technical and non-technical skills.
