[Remote] Legal Assistant, Litigation (Part Time)

They are seeking a part-time Legal Assistant to join the Litigation Team, responsible for managing subpoenas and supporting in-house attorneys with litigation matters.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage third-party subpoenas and requests for records from state/government agencies, and other requestors to securely provide sensitive data and responsive documents, in accordance with applicable state laws and company policies
• Provide comprehensive support to in-house attorneys in managing cases related to No Surprise Bill Act (NSA) and SIU investigations along with other administrative proceedings
• Facilitate the discovery process by issuing legal holds, coordinating document and data collections, track key deadlines, deliverables, and action items ensuring timely compliance
• Lead or contribute to special legal projects and initiatives as assigned
• Assist with intake process of litigation matters and other administrative functions
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external counsel to gather facts, documents, and other case-related materials to support legal strategy

Skills

• 2+ years of legal experience
• 2+ years of research experience
• Demonstrate analytical ability, good communication skills and judgment along with great organizational skills in managing litigation matters
• Knowledge of Health Care benefits
• Knowledge of state and federal court systems
• Paralegal certificate or equivalent experience preferred
