The University of Washington is seeking an INSIGHT Program Operations Specialist-Lead to manage the Harborview Injury Prevention & Research Center summer program for high school students. This temporary position involves instructing and supervising interns, overseeing program staff, and liaising with faculty mentors.
Responsibilities
- Instruct and supervise high school interns (70%)
- Administrative duties related to INSIGHT program including oversight of other program staff members (20%)
- Serve as liaison to faculty mentors working with INSIGHT program (10%)
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare management, business, social science programs, education or other related field
- Minimum 1-2 years' experience managing programs involving student learners, curriculum development, or educational programs
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally in all forms of communications, e.g., verbal, and written, one-on-one and in groups
- Ability to contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint in particular)
- MPH, MSW or MEd degree earned or in progress, with an understanding of public health research, outreach, and communications
- Experience teaching, supervising and/or counseling high school students or student interns
- Experience with a volunteer program, public health non-profit organization or NGO such as the Peace Corps
- Experience in a public health setting
