Position Overview: Remote Healthcare Data Entry Specialist
We are currently seeking motivated individuals to join our remote team as Healthcare Data Entry Specialists. This position offers competitive compensation ranging from $27 to $35 per hour, comprehensive training, and the opportunity to work from the comfort of your own home. You will be responsible for accurate data entry, patient enrollment processing, and providing top-tier support to both patients and pharmacists within our integrated healthcare network.
Key Responsibilities
As a Healthcare Data Entry Specialist at arenaflex, you will play a vital role in maintaining the accuracy and efficiency of our patient management systems. Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Patient Enrollment & Data Entry: Process new patient enrollments by accurately entering demographic information, insurance details, and medical history data into our secure electronic health record systems. Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and state guidelines throughout all data entry processes.
- Prescription Processing: Utilize arenaflex prescription data entry techniques and standardized procedures to process patient medication requests. Enter refill orders for pharmacist review and processing, ensuring all information is accurately transcribed and verified.
- Medical Documentation: Research and obtain missing prescription information as needed. Interpret clinical abbreviations and SIG codes to ensure prescription instructions are correctly entered and understood by pharmacists and patients.
- Exception Resolution: Handle all data entry-related exceptions with precision and attention to detail. Investigate discrepancies, collect necessary information, make corrections, and resubmit records for processing according to individual policy requirements.
- Multi-Channel Customer Communication: Manage incoming calls, chats, and emails from patients seeking assistance. Make outbound calls to prescribers and patients as needed to resolve issues, clarify information, or provide updates on prescription status.
- Third-Party Issue Resolution: Resolve insurance and third-party billing issues by examining claims, collecting required information, making necessary revisions, and resubmitting for processing. Contact insurers and other parties to obtain information, gain override approvals, or otherwise resolve complex billing discrepancies.
- Pharmacist Support: Provide comprehensive assistance to pharmacists both in our local offices and across different locations. Communicate effectively with pharmacy staff to ensure seamless patient care and issue resolution.
- Compliance & Documentation: Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Identify and communicate issues to senior-level staff as appropriate.
- Licensure Requirements: Obtain an active pharmacy technician license or certification within the first 90 days of employment and maintain active licensure throughout your tenure.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
- Technical Skills: Basic computer proficiency including the ability to start/shut down computers, use mouse navigation, open/close programs, switch between applications, save files, print documents, and access information online.
- Internet Proficiency: Fundamental web browsing skills including opening browsers, typing URLs, using search engines, bookmarking sites, navigating with back/forward/stop buttons, and completing online forms.
- Keyboard Skills: Intermediate-level keyboarding abilities with a minimum typing speed of 25 WPM (words per minute). Must be capable of typing from memory and formatting documents professionally.
- Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication abilities to interact effectively with patients, pharmacists, insurance representatives, and team members.
- Age Requirement: Must be 18 years of age or older at the time of application.
- Regulatory Compliance: Must be able to obtain an active pharmacy technician license or certification within 90 days of hire and maintain that licensure throughout employment.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications will strengthen your application and enhance your success in this role:
- At least one year of pharmacy technician experience in a retail or call center environment.
- One and a half years or more of pharmacy technician experience with current state certification/registration as granted by the State Board of Pharmacy or a nationally recognized certification organization.
- Demonstrated experience providing exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients, including meeting quality service standards and maintaining high customer satisfaction ratings.
- Advanced keyboarding skills with typing speeds of 35 WPM or higher, including the ability to type from memory and professionally format various documents.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English, enabling effective communication with our diverse patient population.
