Position Overview
We are looking for a skilled Big Data Analyst to serve as a mid-level internal consultant, responsible for driving the end-to-end lifecycle of data management across various platforms, volumes, varieties, and velocities of data. This role is critical in understanding complex business problems and translating business outcomes into actionable data requirements. Key Responsibilities
As a Big Data Analyst at arenaflex, you will play a pivotal role in our data ecosystem. Your responsibilities will include:
- Drive Complex Self-Service Data Integration Projects: Lead initiatives that consolidate data from disparate sources, making it accessible and usable for business clients including data scientists, analysts, and insight-driven teams.
- Lead Advanced Data Integration Initiatives: Guide informal teams in applying advanced data integration methodologies and tools to large datasets, creating solutions that can be utilized for descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Facilitate communication with functional leaders across multiple simultaneous initiatives, ensuring alignment and successful project delivery.
- Solution Definition and Communication: Drive the definition and communication of solutions and decisions, translating complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders.
- Data Asset Governance: Serve as a subject matter expert for data assets and monitor the ongoing effectiveness of data assets being utilized by business clients in self-service environments.
- Community Development: Support the continuous advancement of the arenaflex data science center and community, fostering knowledge sharing and best practices.
- Data Acquisition and Analysis: Obtain data from various sources and perform thorough data analysis to drive business insights.
- Additional Duties: May perform other work responsibilities as directed by the employee's Supervisors.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in data analysis, data engineering, or a related field.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of both inductive and deductive reasoning and problem-solving approaches.
- Data Analysis Skills: Intermediate to advanced knowledge in evaluating and applying appropriate data analysis and statistical techniques for business problems.
- Database Knowledge: Intermediate knowledge in acquiring and consuming data in both relational and non-SQL databases.
- Data Processing: Experience in integrating, storing, and processing large volumes of data necessary for analysis and modeling.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications will give you a competitive edge:
- Advanced degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Experience in the airline, transportation, or technology industry.
