[Remote] Accounts Payable Specialist I

They are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist I to process state surplus lines tax filings, maintain financial records, and support compliance with regulatory requirements. Responsibilities • Complete state surplus lines tax filings, reports, and payments accurately and in a timely manner • Reconcile client invoices, billing reports, and related financial records • Research and resolve client credits, refunds, and payment discrepancies • Maintain accurate documentation and records related to tax filings and accounting transactions • Support the maintenance and improvement of accounting processes and standard operating procedures • Provide customer service and support to clients, state agencies, and internal teams regarding filing and payment-related inquiries • Maintain working knowledge of state surplus lines laws, tax filing requirements, and compliance regulations • Assist with reporting and reconciliation activities to ensure data accuracy and completeness • Manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy in a fast-paced environment • Required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned Skills • Knowledge of general accounting principles and practices • Understanding of confidentiality requirements related to financial information • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and Adobe applications • Strong attention to detail and accuracy • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a high-volume environment • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team • Associate degree in accounting or equivalent experience • Experience in the surplus lines or insurance industry • Experience with NetSuite or similar accounting software Benefits • Health, dental, and vision plans • Amazing work-life balance with 4 weeks of Paid Time Off • 10 Paid Company Holidays with 2 floating holidays • 401K Programs with employer match • Personal assistance programs for support in a healthy personal and work life Company Overview • InsCipher provides tax filing and insurance automation solutions services.
