Managing and constantly improving the end-to-end payment experience we provide users is a fundamental aspect of our business. Zepz works with payment partners globally to help facilitate quick, affordable, and smooth money transfers. Reporting to Zepz’s Director of Payment Operations, you will be responsible for owning these relationships with Zepz’s payout partner network (aggregators, banks, telcos) in Francophone Africa, problem solving on payment performance issues, and supporting the company in pursuing new opportunities and optimizations.
Reporting to the Payment Operations Director, you will:
Independently own strategic relationship management of the Zepz payout partner network (aggregators, banks, telcos) in Francophone Africa
Own performance-monitoring for key payout metrics, such as delivery speed, failure rate and route uptime, identifying the root causes behind technical incidents and finding a permanent resolution to prevent their reoccurrence
Pursue and support new payment optimisation opportunities to improve performance, such as improvements to API error-handling and exploring API services we’re not utilising
Work cross-functionally with other Zepz teams (Product, Engineering, Business Development, Finance and Treasury) to drive targeted improvement initiatives
Regularly conduct data analysis and maintain the key Payment Operations dashboards
Technical
You have third-party relationship management experience with payment processors and a natural ability to build rapport and collaborate to successful outcomes with senior stakeholders/colleagues
You have advanced SQL expertise, perform regular independent data analysis and present your findings in a comprehensive, straightforward manner
Working style
You are excited to work asynchronously + independently in a remote team environment. Teams at Zepz span a multitude of time zones and we are not all online together at the same time. Your manager is based in London, UK
You are a self-starter and can work independently at a high level with minimal day-to-day direction
You are a world-class prioritiser and can quickly take a long list of priorities and stack-rank them based on what’s most critical and why (using data to back up your prioritisation)
You are comfortable working in an ambiguous and fast-paced environment
You don’t stop asking “why” until you understand the root cause of an issue
You are results-driven and are not afraid to roll up your sleeves to get things done
Bonus point if you have
Worked for a payments company and/or in operations
Fluency in French
Familiarity with the remittance industry and/or migrant communities
Experience with using AI tools
