Join arenaflex as a Patient Identity Expert
Are you detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and looking for a meaningful career in healthcare information management? arenaflex is currently seeking a motivated Patient Identity Expert to join our growing team! This is an exciting entry-level opportunity to break into the healthcare IT industry and develop valuable skills in Health Information Management (HIM).
In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring patient data integrity within hospital systems. You will research, analyze, and manage patient identity information within Master Patient Index (MPI) databases, helping healthcare organizations maintain accurate electronic medical records. Your work directly impacts patient safety, healthcare quality, and operational efficiency across the healthcare continuum.
At arenaflex, we specialize in providing comprehensive MPI cleanup services to hospitals and healthcare systems nationwide. Did you know that duplicate patient records are a widespread problem in healthcare? Studies show that nearly 10% of hospital electronic medical records contain duplicate entries, which can lead to serious patient safety risks, billing errors, and operational inefficiencies. As a Patient Identity Expert at arenaflex, you will be on the front lines of solving this critical healthcare data challenge.
What You'll Do
As a Patient Identity Expert at arenaflex, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of patient identification data within hospital information systems. This role involves both independent work and collaboration with project teams to ensure the highest quality standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Research & Analysis: Investigate patient records within hospital applications and ancillary systems to identify potential duplicate medical record numbers during MPI Data Reconciliation Projects.
- Record Merging: Perform electronic merges of duplicate patient records in designated healthcare applications, following standardized procedures and best practices to ensure data integrity.
- Demographic Updates: Complete accurate demographic updates to patient records as needed during the electronic merge processing, ensuring all information remains current and correct.
- Documentation & Reporting: Create detailed spreadsheets for medical record and radiology jacket retrieval purposes, maintaining comprehensive audit trails of all changes made.
- Quality Assurance: Maintain exceptional accuracy standards of 97% or higher on Merge Planning QA and 95% or higher on Electronic Verification QA.
- Process Adherence: Follow standard procedures meticulously while adapting to different project requirements and healthcare system specifications.
- Training & Development: Participate in required training sessions during standard business hours (8am-5pm MST) and continuously learn new processes and systems.
- Communication: Actively engage with project leadership team and team members to ask questions, seek clarification, and address concerns proactively.

- While this is a remote role with semi-flexible hours, you must be available for meetings and training during standard business hours (8am-5pm MST) during your training period and as needed thereafter.
