The Commonwealth of Massachusetts is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Privacy and Responsible Technology Division as a Paralegal. The role involves providing day-to-day litigation support, managing case files, and performing administrative duties to assist attorneys in their work on emerging technologies and data privacy issues.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day litigation support for all aspects of the attorneys’ case responsibilities
- Tracking and organizing discovery and court filings
- Drafting case materials
- Cite checking, formatting, and finalizing legal memoranda
- Compiling evidence and exhibits
- Performing other duties as requested by attorneys
- Organizing files
- Trial support
- Indexing and record-keeping
- Coordinating with enforcement partners
- Document filing
- Scheduling
- General office support
Skills
- Bachelor's degree, associate degree, or an equivalent combination of related education and/or relevant experience is required
- Must be self-motivated, disciplined, and possess the ability to exercise sound judgment in decision-making
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple tasks under deadlines, and the ability to follow through with oral and written instructions are essential
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- A high level of proficiency with data analysis, technology and computers, especially word processing and spreadsheet software, is preferred
