Position: Organizing Strategy & Innovation Program Manager

Reports To: Organizing Strategy & Innovation Program Director

 

About Us:

The Movement Innovation Collaborative (MIC) is a new entity that will deepen and expand the capacity, impact, and sustainability of California's grassroots movements for racial justice and social transformation. The Movement Innovation Collaborative will support changemakers and organizations to catalyze innovations in movement strategy and power building, intergenerational leadership development, and our collective long-term sustainability and resiliency. Through a network of physical and virtual "centers," the Movement Innovation Collaborative will also contribute a key piece of infrastructure needed to fuel transformative structural change across California, serving hundreds of organizations and tens of thousands of grassroots leaders in California. 

MIC's core strategies to deepen power, coordination, and impact include: Movement Strategy and Innovation (MS&I), Organizing Strategy and Innovation (OS&I), Healing, Sustainability and Culture (HSC), Network of Centers (NoC), Regional Ecosystems (RE), and Learning & Impact (L&I). In all areas, MIC advances transformative organizing, strategic alignment and creates program, evaluation, and infrastructure supports that are additive and synergistic with existing movement efforts.

Position Overview: 

The Program Manager for the Organizing Strategy & Innovations (OSI) program is a tactical, execution-focused role. Working closely with the OSI Program Director, the Manager translates high-level strategies into structured, actionable, and measurable deliverables. This position is responsible for the day-to-day coordination of core projects—such as resourced cohorts and capacity-building initiatives—ensuring they are delivered on schedule and meet high-quality standards. The Program Manager handles tactical communications, coordinates program logistics, and supports the implementation of MIC’s transformative organizing and experimentation agenda.

What You’ll Be Doing: In the MIC’s start-up phase, the OSI Program Manager will inform and support implementation of program strategy through:

Project Planning, Coordination & Tactical Implementation

Tactical Communication & Relationship Management

Program Evaluation & Action Research

Administrative & Financial Coordination
