Northland Liability Associate Claim Representative

The Associate Claim Rep position involves comprehensive training in claim handling, customer service, and policy interpretation, focusing on managing Northland Liability claims and progressing towards full claims handling responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in structured training classes covering claim processes, systems, and procedures
• Training will include virtual, classroom and on-the-job training
• Learn how to investigate, determine coverage, liability, and damages based on policy terms and claim facts
• Under close supervision, review, investigate, and document claims
• Gather information from policyholders, claimants, witnesses, and third-party providers
• Communicate and apprise all parties regarding claim status which may include our internal and external business customers, and legal counsel
• Maintain accurate records of claim activity in claim management systems
• Acquire and maintain relevant Insurance License(s) to comply with state and Travelers’ requirements within three months of starting the job
• Perform other duties as assigned

Skills

• High School Diploma or GED and one year of customer service experience OR Bachelor's Degree
• Previous internship or work experience in insurance, finance, or customer service
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
• Exceptional customer service skills and a commitment to providing a positive experience for insureds and claimants
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally
• Acquire and maintain relevant Insurance License(s) to comply with state and Travelers' requirements within three months of starting the job
