About the Project After Hours: Library is a narrative-driven horror experience set in a mysterious library where strange events begin to unfold during the night shift. Players must complete tasks, uncover secrets hidden throughout the building, and survive encounters with unsettling entities while piecing together the story behind the library. The game blends storytelling, exploration, environmental narrative, and survival gameplay to create a tense but story-focused experience. Role: Narrative Designer Responsibilities • Design the narrative structure and progression of the story • Work closely with gameplay designers to integrate narrative with gameplay systems • Develop character arcs, lore, and environmental storytelling elements • Help structure events, discoveries, and story beats throughout the game • Collaborate with the script writer to maintain narrative consistency Ideal Experience • Background in narrative design for games or interactive media • Experience creating branching or event-based storytelling • Ability to connect gameplay mechanics with narrative progression • Strong communication and documentation skills Role: Script Writer Responsibilities • Write in-game dialogue, character interactions, and narrative scenes • Develop conversations between characters and story events • Assist with environmental text such as notes, journals, and discovered documents • Work with the Narrative Designer to maintain tone, pacing, and character voice • Revise scripts based on team feedback and gameplay implementation Ideal Experience • Strong storytelling and dialogue writing ability • Experience writing for games, visual novels, or interactive media • Ability to write believable characters and suspenseful moments • Organized writing workflow with clear formatting Compensation This is a voluntary, revenue-share–based position. Forbidden Kemono Studio operates on a revenue-share model, meaning contributors receive contractual revenue participation when the project releases. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about storytelling and interested in helping build a complete, released project.
