The Role Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Lead Data Analyst to join our Business Intelligence and Analytics team. In this pivotal role, you will serve as the primary analytical partner for cross-functional teams, helping us understand and optimize the performance of our streaming platforms and digital products. You will lead initiatives to build robust reporting frameworks, develop insightful dashboards, and establish single sources of truth for key business metrics.

Key Responsibilities
- Business Performance Reporting & Visualization: Serve as the primary analytical partner for cross-functional stakeholders to understand platform performance. When metrics deviate from expectations, dive deep to drive meaningful, actionable insights that help improve business performance or double down on successes.
- Reporting and Tooling Strategy: Lead the team in creating meaningful and consistent metrics and reporting across all streaming platforms. Develop and maintain reporting standards that scale with our growing business needs.
- BI Platform Execution: Drive reporting for exceptionally large-scale data environments. Act as a subject matter expert for professionals across the team and collaborate with Data Engineering to design and build performant ETLs, intermediate tables, and beautiful, fast dashboards using tools like Tableau and Looker.
- Creating a Single Source of Truth: Work closely with our Governance team to bring together analysts and partners from across the organization to define and standardize the metrics by which we assess product performance.
- ETL and Metric Design: Own metric design and creation by defining business requirements, structuring and optimizing data pipelines, and ensuring long-term data scalability.
- Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead and mentor a team of analysts, providing guidance on tooling development and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner closely with business stakeholders to identify and understand what drives their decisions, and collaborate with other data teams to improve platform capabilities around data modeling, testing platforms, data visualization, and data architecture.
- Strategic Communication: Communicate complex analytical findings to diverse audiences, translating technical insights into business-friendly language that influences strategic direction.
Essential Qualifications
- Educational Background: Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
- Technical Proficiency: Expertise in developing data analysis and data visualization tools such as Tableau, Looker, Chartio, or similar platforms.
- Professional Experience: 7+ years of analytical experience, ideally with specific focus on analysis engineering or business intelligence.
- Database Expertise: Advanced proficiency in SQL with experience in SparkSQL, Hive, or similar big data query languages.
- Cloud Data Warehousing: Hands-on experience with OLAP databases like Snowflake or Amazon Redshift.
- ETL Development: Experience developing and maintaining optimized tables for reporting through ETL processes.
- Project Management: Proven track record of project and resource management experience, defining objectives and timelines, and coordinating work across multiple sponsors.
- Programming Skills: Proficiency in Python, R, or other statistical programming languages.
- Personal Attributes: Self-motivation and passion for delivering exceptional products. Strong interpersonal skills along with written and verbal presentation abilities and experience presenting to diverse audiences.

Compensation & Benefits
We recognize that exceptional talent deserves exceptional rewards. The compensation range for this position is $136,100 to $182,400 annually for the Santa Monica, CA location, and $142,600 to $191,100 annually for the New York, NY location. The final offer will consider internal equity and may vary based on the candidate's geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
