Prospect14 is developing utility-scale and community solar energy projects across North America. We enable landowners, power purchasers, and later-stage project developers to participate in the rapid growth of the solar energy market.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Land Agent to support origination and acquisition efforts for utility-scale and distributed energy projects, including battery energy storage systems (BESS), community solar, distributed generation (DG) solar, and surface easements.
This is a remote, commission-based role focused on landowner outreach, negotiation, and execution of lease option agreements. The ideal candidate is highly self-motivated, organized, and comfortable managing negotiations from first contact through signed agreement.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and engage landowners for potential renewable energy development opportunities
Conduct remote negotiations for lease options, easements, and purchase agreements
Explain project structure, timelines, and compensation clearly to landowners
Manage deal pipeline from origination through execution
Track outreach, negotiations, and contract status using internal systems
Coordinate with internal development team on site control strategy and prioritization
Maintain professionalism and transparency throughout landowner interactions
Required Qualifications
Proven experience in land acquisition, real estate negotiations, or energy development
Demonstrated success negotiating lease options, easements, or similar agreements
Strong communication skills (phone, email, virtual meetings)
Ability to work independently in a commission-based environment
Highly organized with strong follow-through
Technical Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Experience using Smartsheet for tracking workflows and deal pipelines
Familiarity with Geographic Information System (GIS) tools for site identification and evaluation (e.g., parcel mapping, constraints analysis)
Preferred Experience
Background in renewable energy land acquisition (solar and/or BESS)
Existing relationships with landowners or brokers in target markets
Understanding of interconnection-driven site selection
Experience working with option structures and long-term lease agreements
Compensation Structure
$4,000 – $5,500 per executed deal (lease option, easement, or purchase agreement)
