Job Summary:
The Data Entry Specialist will be responsible for accurately entering patient information into our software program, accessing various electronic medical records systems, and providing a high level of customer service to our customers. This is a remote opportunity that requires a high level of independence, self-motivation, and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:

- Complying with HIPAA regulations and company policies
Essential Qualifications:
We're looking for a candidate with the following qualifications:
- Experience in a medical records office environment is helpful but not required; we'll provide training
- Computer literacy, with a general working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to type 50+ words per minute with accuracy
- Focused on high-quality work and committed to delivering exceptional customer service
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Extremely reliable and able to meet deadlines
Physical Requirements:
The ideal candidate will be able to:
- Sit or stand for long periods of time
- Lift and carry 25 pounds of materials
- Enter information via computer keyboard for long periods of time
- Read documents and view information on a computer monitor
- Communicate effectively through speaking and hearing
Information Governance Accountabilities:
The Data Entry Specialist will be responsible for:
- Understanding the organization's information governance program and role-specific accountabilities
- Complying with policies, procedures, and processes related to data security and confidentiality
- Participating in education and training programs to ensure compliance with corporate policies and regulations
HIPAA/Compliance:
The Data Entry Specialist will be responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of patient, employee, and volunteer information
- Complying with all regulations regarding corporate integrity and security obligations
- Reporting unethical, fraudulent, or unlawful behavior or activity
- Maintaining current and yearly HIPAA certification
